The Parkland School District recommends that fifth grade students should spend 50 minutes on their assigned homework. The assignments will reinforce what was taught in class. Help your child set up a consistent, organized place to do homework. You may assist your child with his/her work, but please do not do it for them. Please contact me if your child is consistently unable to do the work alone.
Reading: Your child should read for at least 20 minutes nightly. All reading homework will be placed in their Take Home Folder. Your child has access to all assigned reading content on the Wonders website. This includes leveled readers and activities at their reading level. Please let me know if you need assistance accessing the Wonders website or would like printed materials.
Math: Please complete the assigned math paper.
All assignments are due the following school day. Your child will have one day to make up any incomplete work. After that he/she will have to stay in for recess on the following day to make up work. Please write a note if your child was unable to complete assignments due to family emergencies, illness, lost/forgotten papers.
